Hello! I am Ghizlan Nejmi, the founder of First Step Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 8 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy

At First Step Wonderschool, we strive to make each child feel loved and welcomed, from the moment they walk in the door in the morning. It’s not uncommon for us to start our day with a hug. We believe that development and learning start to happen once a child feels safe and secure in their new environment. Therefore, we believe building strong relationships based on trust is the most important first step. Once a child feels safe in our program, their development and confidence will skyrocket.

Location

First Step Wonderschool is located in a bright, warm apartment in the Everett neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and music and movement area (for physical activity and cultural learning).

Children will spend about half of their time outdoors at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At 1st Step Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

About our program

At First Step Wonderschool, we believe in the power of play. Each learning day  is thoughtfully designed, grounded in a fun and relevant theme while also allowing ample time for students to explore their own interests. I have found that this structured but flexible approach helps my students to dig deep into each topic, while also encouraging their own curiosity and creativity.

Come see what makes 1st Step Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour or attend an Open House event.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/1st-step-wonderschool-5453/apply – Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
