Our Teachers

Hello! I am Ms. Cindy and I have been an Early Childhood Educator and Director for more than 32 years combined. I have a BA equivalent in Early Childhood Education. Most of my experience has been in faith based programs. I also trained at Concordia Irving for a Ministry in Early Childhood certification and Drama in Ministry. I am current on my CPR/ First Aid and have Life Vac available in the event it is ever needed. My course work and student teaching were completed at Palomar Community College in CA. I certified in all programs except Montessori . Certifications as a Teacher, Infant /ToddlerTeacher , Master Teacher,Site Supervisor , Inclusion, Working With Families and Early Childhood Administration.

I recently moved to Richmond in August of 2021 to care for two of my preschool age grandchildren and open a quality licensed Christian Home Preschool . I am a wife, mother to four amazing young women and Nana to 7 grandchildren. I am very excited to be here and look forward to growing my home preschool and helping other providers and families connect.

Philosophy

Children need to connect with nature and discover the world around them. Nature connects us not only to the earth but to our souls and who we are.

Children are so capable of understanding their world through direct experiences and teachable moments.

About our program

Explorations encourages children to step away from technology and connect with nature and peers. We stomp in puddles, play in the rain, mud and snow and challenge our environment . Explorations focuses on the whole child, socially, emotionally ,spiritually and in creating strong family connections. Each child is accepted, loved and nurtured in a play-based emergent curriculum.

Special Events- families are invited to attend. Open House, Back to School Night, Ice Cream Social, Pumpkin Patch , Costume Parade, Stone Soup, Kids Night Out in December and February, Christmas program, Easter Hat Parade, Easter Egg Hunt ,Mother’s Day Tea, Father’s Day Luncheon, Family camp out, Movie nights, Bon Fire and field trips.
