Our Teachers

Hello, my name is Lisa Blackwell, the preschool director at AGC Preschool. I have worked in early childhood education for 30+ years and have an elementary education degree from Indiana University. I taught full-day kindergarten at Mt. Auburn for 21 years, and I have been part of this program since 2010. Before becoming the Preschool director, I taught in the Fantastic 5’s class for 10 years. God has led me to where I am today, and I am so blessed to be a part of this program!!! Our mission at All God’s Children is to provide a nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and develop to their full potential. We know choosing a preschool for your child is an important decision, and we are honored you have chosen All God’s Children Preschool. We believe every child is a unique individual with their own strengths and abilities, and we are committed to fostering their growth and development in a loving and supportive environment.

Philosophy

All God’s Children Preschool is an outreach ministry of Grace United Methodist Church. We welcome children of all religious backgrounds because we believe each of us reaches our fullest potential in a relationship with God. We introduce children to Jesus, the Bible, and Biblical principles. AGC Preschool strives to cultivate a child’s love of learning, respect, and creative expression, and to develop life skills such as kindness, courtesy, self-discipline, and critical thinking in preparation for kindergarten and beyond.

We realize that PLAY promotes joyful learning that fosters self-regulation, language, cognitive, and social competencies as well as content knowledge across disciplines. PLAY is essential for all children, from birth through age 8. We wish to partner with parents to provide a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for growth across all domains of child development—physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and linguistic. We recognize our role in creating a rich, play-based learning environment that encourages the development of knowledge (including vocabulary) and skills. We acknowledge that children are active learners from birth, constantly taking in and organizing information to create meaning through their relationships, their interactions with their environment, and their overall experiences.
