At Sam’s Place 78, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported. Our team brings backgrounds in social work, behavioral health, and hands-on caregiving, so we understand that children grow best when their emotional needs are met alongside their learning. We use trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches, predictable routines, and warm relationships to help each child build confidence, coping skills, and independence. We see families as partners and work closely with parents and caregivers so that every child has a strong, consistent foundation at home and in our program.

She is a certified Community Mental Health Worker (CMHW) through Indiana’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction. She also has more than four years of experience supervising and training staff. Sha’Vonne founded Sam’s Place 78 to give children a safe, structured, and nurturing place to grow. She believes every child can thrive when the adults around them work together with patience and understanding.

Địa điểm

Our location is a safe, welcoming home base for your child. Sam’s Place 78 sits on a quiet one-way street in East Chicago, which means less traffic and safer drop-offs and pickups. The property is fully gated and surrounded by beautiful landscaping, giving children a secure and peaceful place to learn and play. We are also located near the local fire department, which offers extra peace of mind knowing emergency help is close by.

Families enjoy convenient parking and quick highway access, making drop-off easy on a busy commute. Commuters can also use the South Shore Line’s East Chicago Station on Indianapolis Boulevard.

We are close to several neighborhood schools, including Abraham Lincoln Elementary, Washington Elementary, Joseph L. Block Middle School, and East Chicago Central High School, which is helpful for families with older siblings.

For outdoor fun, Washington Park is about a mile away, with a playground, walking paths, sports courts, and a seasonal pool. Jeorse Park Beach offers lakefront recreation and community events nearby.

Về chương trình của chúng tôi

Our program is all about helping children learn through play in a warm, family-style setting. At Sam’s Place 78, small group sizes mean every child gets individual attention, and our days balance hands-on play, early learning activities, and predictable routines that build confidence and school readiness.

What makes us unique is our deep background in supporting children and families. Our owner holds a Master of Social Work and has years of experience in family support services, so we understand each child’s social and emotional needs and partner closely with parents. Families stay connected through daily updates, photos, and meal information on Brightwheel.

We serve nutritious meals and snacks, accept CCDF vouchers, and are enrolled in Indiana’s Paths to QUALITY program. We love celebrating milestones, holidays, and birthdays with our families and welcome you to schedule a visit!
