Our Teachers

Hi! My name is Giovanna and I am the founder of The Rising Stars of Sunnyvale. I have been working in programs for 15 years. I moved to the United States from Venezuela when I was younger and my entire family ran childcares. I went to school to study Business Administration but missed interacting with students. There is something so special when you see the transformation. I am in the process of working towards my site supervisor permit. I need one more class!

When I am not working in my program, I am spending time with my son. I love to travel, learn about different cultures and spending time outdoors.

Philosophy

The Rising Stars of Sunnyvale Wonderschool is a play-based Spanish bilingual program. We believe that children should be leading their learning. Each individual child has their own play patterns that mimic their unique curiosity.

I believe that in-home care provides each child with an opportunity to spend time in a space that is filled with love. At Rising Stars, we care deeply about your child and your family, and we foster a deep connection between every little one in our care. Children come to have a mutual love and respect for each other, our materials, and most importantly learning.

Location

The Rising Stars of Sunnyvale Wonderschool is located a few blocks away from downtown Sunnyvale. We are about a mile away from LinkedIn, Microsoft and Google in Sunnyvale. The convenient location helps with drop-off and pick up.

Children spend outdoor time daily in our backyard space. They absolutely love water time! We also have different trees where children can pick their fruits and vegetables.

About our program

Bilingual Education - This is a Spanish bilingual program. A bilingual education can help students to develop strong thinking skills, and growing in other areas of cognitive development.

Outdoor Play - We spend a large part of our day outside because fresh air contributes to cognitive and social/emotional development of our children. It also is proven to increase immunity and make kids happy :)

Singing/Dancing - Our children love to sing and dance. We believe it is important because it increases coordination and muscle tone. Improves flexibility and helps to balance the body.

Food - We are very proud of the food we cook and serve to our students. It is primarily latin influenced. This includes beans, rice and lentils. We also serve soups with vegetables, chicken and beef. We can work with you to accommodate food allergies as needed.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
