Hello, my name is Marketa and I am the director and teacher of Sakeenah Montessori Inspired Home Daycare in Santa Clara. I am from Prague, Czech Republic, and I settled in California 25 years ago. I love reading, learning new things, baking, cooking, hiking, swimming, and traveling. I have 23 years of experience with children – parenting 5 own, babysitting, and volunteering as a Girl Scouts leader. My passion for caring for children grew into an idea to open a home daycare. I believe every child is uniquely brilliant in his or her own way. I love to be part of children’s enrichment, teach them something new every day, have loads of fun and be able to stay with my youngest daughter. Health and safety are the top priority. I ensure that Sakeenah Daycare meets children’s needs regarding health, well-being, learning, and development. I am First Aid & CPR and Preventive Health, Safety & Nutrition certified.
Marketa’s eldest daughter, Khadija, joined Sakeenah to ensure a ratio 1:3 Khadija is a loving, caring, and gentle soul. She loves children and has been helping with her siblings since early childhood. She’s been tutoring children, ages 3 years and up, and was a teacher in Kumon. Khadija enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures, learning languages, and loves to eat various cuisines.
Marketa’s second eldest daughter, Ruqaya, is occasional helper. She shares same passions like her older sister. Children love her energetic vibe and the activities she does with them. Ruqaya likes to be active and is very artistic. She also makes sure to keep Sakeenah clean so it’s a safe place for the kids.
Marketa’s sons, Abdurrahman & Abdullah, like to help during their days off school with coaching sports, leading various science projects and ‘Who Am I Today?’ series.

Testimonials
I am so, so happy with Sakeenah Montessori Home Daycare! We stumbled upon it through a friend and it’s been the greatest blessing. My almost 3 year old is so excited to head there every morning. I especially love that Marketa consistently exposes the kids to new activities through arts and crafts, baking, etc. and keeps us up to date with photos and videos. Marketa also takes care of snacks and meals for the kids, making it so much faster/easier for us to get out of the house in the morning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for trustworthy care for their little ones in the area.

Our one year old absolutely loves Sakeenah daycare! He didn’t want to go his first day but now he goes to Marketa happy and excited. Our son loves playing outside when it is sunny and is feeling like home when inside. Marketa serves halal organic meals so I never had to think what to prepare for lunch. I love all the pictures and videos she sends me every day. I trust Sakeenah daycare for my son and in fact sending our son here was a good decision! Thank you Marketa for your great and honest work!

I am thrilled with my 2-year-old daughter’s daycare! The teachers are wonderful - they’re patient, kind, and clearly love working with young children. The activities are engaging and age-appropriate, with a focus on hands-on exploration and learning. I especially appreciate the Montessori-inspired methods used at the daycare, which encourage independence, self-discipline, and a love of learning in my daughter. Overall, I feel confident and grateful that my daughter is in such a nurturing and enriching environment.

My son Vincent enjoys Sakeenah daycare very much. When he started he was hesitant as any 3yo toddler is but now he enjoys the daycare very very much. He looks forward to going to daycare daily. He even asks about daycare on the weekends! Marketa, the owner, always sends us video and photos of our son Vincent to reassure us that he is doing very well. In addition, Marketa always has activities for the kids like “cooking/baking”, painting, and of course playing outside when the weather is good. My wife and I have no regrets or reservations having our beloved son here and we truly recommend Sakeenah daycare to anyone.

Can’t find better place for my child. Very trustworthy and clean place for kids! Marketa engages the kids with many montesssori inspired activities. My son is 2 years old and the transition to daycare is hard on him and me but Marketa is very flexible she let me spend time with him and after one week he started accepting her and feeling comfortable. Thanks to the activities she does with him like painting or cooking. Marketa food is very delicious and clean my son finishes his plate and saves for me haha so it’s a relief on parents not to worry about meals preparations and knowing their child is satisfied. Marketa keeps sending me updates about my son through the day which really relieves me. I’m so blessed to know about this daycare. Thanks god Alhamdulilah

Marketa has been taking care of my daughter Zainab since she was 1and a half. She is very caring and expert mom, she did lots of activities with her and took them to playground everyday. She also made delicious food for her. Marketa was very flexible with our schedule, which helped me a lot because I’m a busy mom and full time student. Marketa even threw the girls special tea party and sometimes themes. Zainab stayed with Marketa until she started preschool at 3 years old. Zainab still loves Marketa and calls her mommy.

Philosophy
At Sakeenah Montessori Inspired Home Daycare we see every moment as an opportunity for learning and education. Children in our daycare begin the learning process during infancy, with the introduction of Montessori concepts including self-directed work and circle time, which foster self-control and concentration.
We value stability, which means children will stay with the same teacher/s for multiple years, and that enables children to bond with their teacher/s on a deeper level.
We encourage flexibility and emphasize the individual needs of each child and allow the children to play and move at their own pace. We motivate children to move and learn freely by engaging in activities that interest them and collaborating with others. This freedom allows each child to learn through hands-on interaction in a stimulating environment. The Montessori philosophy inspires children to develop a true love of learning by allowing children to make their own choices.
We are devoted to developing well-educated, well-rounded, and highly successful individuals. Through the holistic approach, children are nurtured to develop social skills and positive life habits by collaborating and working on activities as a group. This also involves peer-to-peer mentorship, as older children are given the opportunity to mentor younger children, developing traits such as cooperation, altruism, and leadership.
Location
Sakeenah Montessori Inspired Home Daycare is located in a welcoming, spacious suite in brand new Monroe Apartments building in Santa Clara. The green visitors’ parking lot is at your convenience for safe drop-ins & pick-ups.
We’ve designed our environment to spark creativity and encourage children to use all of their five senses, so they learn to understand how their bodies work and find new ways to experience the world.
We emphasize the importance of children connecting with nature to gain a deeper knowledge of themselves and the world. That is why children will have some outdoor time every day in our fenced private playground, local parks, and playgrounds.
About our program
At Sakeenah Montessori Inspired Home Daycare we focus on education based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning, and collaborative play. We encourage children to make creative choices in their learning, while we offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process.
Children work individually and in groups to discover and explore the knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential. Every material in our classroom supports an aspect of child development, creating a match between the child’s natural interests and the available activities. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace.
In addition to the indoors, we also have a gated playground available, and outdoor tables for some messy and fun activities. We include neighborhood walks to collect natural materials for our hands-on activities.
Exercise is a critical component of our morning and afternoon routine, and it serves many purposes in addition to helping us stay fit. The right exercises can help children wake up in the morning, as well as relax them at the end of the day. Every morning after breakfast, and right before dismissal we do some stretches or child-friendly yoga together.
We serve warm homemade nutritious, organic, and halal food. Older children help to prepare snacks and are involved in serving and cleaning afterwards. We provide breakfast, lunch, and two snacks. We support breastfeeding moms and will store breastmilk for their convenience.
We help with potty training. Parents can directly ship diapers and wipes to our location.
Siblings discount.
