Philosophy
Eucalyptus Wonderschool is a Inspired by Rudolf Steiner philosopher founder of Waldorf School. Eucalyptus Nursery school we prepare children for the transition to kindergarten through an emphasis on social emotional learning.
Location
Eucalyptus Wonderschool is centrally located in San Rafael, 5 minutes from downtown. We are near the 101, a neighborhood library, and local park.
Time spent outside is so important to a child’s growth, development, and happiness. This is why we love being able to offer the children more than one outdoor space. We have a backyard for activities like blocks, gymnastics, and curious movement. We also have a “water area” with a garden and lots of mud – it’s a kid’s heaven! And, finally, we are located near Gerstle Park, where we sometimes take the kids to play.
About our program
Our program is Waldorf-inspired. We love how the Waldorf philosophy helps us support each individual child and their unique learning style. Children naturally want to learn but they want to do so in a way with which they can connect and have fun. The children in our program become inspired by learning. This means they are better prepared to make the transition to kindergarten when the time comes.
As providers, our goal is to prepare the children for their future; to get them ready for preschool or kindergarten. We do activities that help the children in our program grow through social emotional learning. In this way, they are prepared for the many relationships with others they will encounter throughout their lifetime.
Meals
We serve homemade wholesome and delicious meals daily. For example, on Fridays we make pancakes with chickpea or buckwheat flower, coconut, grated carrots, bananas, blueberries, cashew almond butter, vanilla extract, eggs, and poppy or sesame seeds. The kids absolutely love this recipe and always ask for it.
For lunch, we might serve chickpea soup with potatoes and spinach or rotisserie chicken with asparagus and watermelon. We might serve apples and cucumbers or quinoa and tomatoes for snack.

We’ve provided information about our philosophies and offerings to help you decide if our program may be right for your family.
2. Tour our program
Come see what makes Eucalyptus Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour by Zoom before scheduling an in-person tour.
We are were of the current situation, Covid, and due to this decision to change the program a little bit. At the moment we are spending most of our time outside rain (luckily in our outside area we have a tarp overhead, blocking the rain out) or shine; we also have each child wear would clothing to keep warm outside during the fall and winter. Although with the current situation we are aware that we must be safe but also want the children to be warm and healthy. The providers go out just to buy food, we are focused on keeping our community safe and healthy: minimize social interaction. At the moment we have changed how our tours are managed. For families that are looking at the program as a possible option, we first have a zoom meeting (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday); however, for the families that are very interested in enrolling their child in the program we have personal tours are scheduled as one family for one Saturday. We are only doing Saturdays at the moment; we do a deep clean ( the day before and the day of) in every area that you will be able to walk through and the child to play with any of the toys if they would like to (that is if you as parents are comfortable with it). We also have an option to look through a clear plastic screen that separates the children’s area and the side entrances. We also include a tour of our garden/sandbox area. There are protocols that must be followed while visiting the program: all adults must be wearing masks covering both nose and mouth, children are not required to wear masks (but can if you would prefer you, child, to wear one), sunglasses, and hat (these are optional). We will provide foot covers, gloves, and hand sanitizer.
Eucalyptus Playgarden Program continues to take care of your even after the vaccine without certainty of how the virus is handled, we prefer to keep all our protocols and continue to offer a safe environment for those who visit can enjoy the essence of the Eucalyptus Playgarden Program and have a beautiful experience.
