Yadira Ortiz, Director and Head Teacher

Yadira has worked with children her entire life. As an older sister, Yadira spend many years caring for her younger siblings. Later on in life, Yadira began volunteering at various after school programs in the Peninsula. She learned the importance of providing quality educational care to children and saw the impact a strong education can have on children. Her goal is for every child to learn and thrive so they can develop into successful adults.

Yadira is also a proud mother of two and knows the importance of treating kids how she would like her kids to be treated.

Philosophy

Sandy’s Child Care is a Spanish bilingual play-based program where children get to explore the world through child-centered learning. It is a “yes” space, where children are encouraged to pursue their interests and curiosities. In addition to free play and activities guided by the children’s interests, we also offer more structured activities like baking, gardening, and art projects along with an ample amount of outdoor time.

We do accept children who are not yet fully potty-trained. Decisions will be made on a case by case basis at the discretion of the director.
