Our Teachers

Hello my name is Karla Gomez, I have been working as a childcare provider for 20 years. I having worked in multiple daycares, which led me to opening my own program in 2015, driven by my passion for working with children and watching them grow and learn.

Throughout my career, I developed a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of each child. I find it incredibly fulfilling to watch each child discover their individuality and develop their own personality, interests, and talents. My dedication to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children has earned me a reputation as a trusted caregiver within the community.

I am fluent in Spanish, allowing me to communicate effectively with families and children who speak Spanish as their primary language. My Spanish bilingual program provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn and practice their language skills, providing them with a valuable skill for the future.

As a childcare provider, I am committed to providing exceptional care to every child in my care. My love for children and my experience in the field have prepared me to navigate the challenges and rewards that come with working in childcare. I am proud to be a part of the childcare community, making a positive impact on the lives of children and families every day.

Philosophy

As a family child care provider who operates a play-based Spanish bilingual program, my philosophy is rooted in the belief that children learn best through play. I strive to provide a nurturing, stimulating, and supportive environment that fosters children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

In my program, I believe that children are naturally curious, creative, and eager to learn. By providing a range of play-based experiences, I aim to help children develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life. I believe that children should be given plenty of opportunities to engage in hands-on, play-based activities that encourage them to use their imaginations, solve problems, and develop their critical thinking skills.

Creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and cared for is paramount to me. Building strong, positive relationships with children is essential for their well-being and development. I strive to create an environment that encourages children to feel comfortable, confident, and happy.

As a Spanish bilingual program, I recognize the importance of language development in young children. I aim to create an immersive language-learning environment that supports the acquisition of Spanish as a second language. I use a variety of techniques to help children learn Spanish, including storytelling, singing, and playing games. By exposing children to Spanish at an early age, I hope to help them develop fluency and proficiency in the language.

Overall, my childcare philosophy is centered around providing a play-based, nurturing, and supportive environment that fosters children’s development in all areas, while also promoting bilingualism and cultural awareness. I believe that by creating a positive and engaging environment that celebrates children’s individual strengths and interests, I can help them grow into confident, capable, and curious learners who are ready to take on the world.

About our program

Hi there! I’m proud to say that my childcare has been a beloved part of the San Mateo community for the past 15 years. As a play-based Spanish bilingual program, I strive to provide a fun and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.

One of the things that sets my childcare apart is our focus on play-based learning. Rather than relying solely on structured lessons and activities, we believe that children learn best through exploration and play. We encourage children to use their imaginations, experiment with different materials and activities, and take risks in a safe and supportive environment.

Another key aspect of our program is our bilingual approach. We believe that exposing children to a second language at a young age can have numerous benefits, from improved cognitive development to greater cultural awareness. Our Spanish language activities and materials are integrated into our daily routine, giving children plenty of opportunities to practice their language skills and develop a love for the language.

Of course, at the heart of our program is our commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children. We believe that every child is unique and deserves to be valued for who they are. We work to build strong relationships with each child and their family, creating a sense of community and belonging that extends beyond the walls of our childcare.

Overall, I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done over the past 15 years and look forward to many more years of helping children in the San Mateo area thrive.
