My name is Magdalene, and my family inspired me to build a safe, nurturing home where parents can work knowing their children are deeply cared for. As a single mother working full time and an immigrant, I faced many challenges and lacked the support I needed to stay home with my son when he was little. He went to a daycare when he was only three months old and I worked throughout his school years. I worried whether he would receive the loving care he needed for his mind, body, and spirit.
I started helping my family with childcare services a couple of years ago when I was laid off. I took care of my granddaughter and my great niece and nephew. My family always points out that I have a natural gift for connecting with kids and providing great care. I found great fulfillment in shaping my care around the unique personalities and distinct needs of those I supported.
I built this program based on what I would have wanted for my son when he was a baby and, in doing this, it provides for my family and care for my wider community. In honor of my late mother, I named this program Gatitu—a reflection of the profound love she held for her family and community.
I graduated from UC Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Science degree and from College of Alameda with Associate Degree. Recently, I took perquisite classes at Chabot College and San Jose City College in preparation to join a Marriage Family Therapy program. These psychology courses provided a deep understanding of the human mind and behavior, reinforcing my belief that we are constantly learning and growing from cradle to the end of life. My philosophy is that every day is an opportunity to grow and love with an open heart and open mind.
I believe children learn best when they are in a safe and loving environment where they feel seen and valued. As unique individuals, children guide adults through their behavioral cues. My goal is to provide a nurturing environment where your children feel deeply supported. I look forward to loving them, celebrating their growth, and learning from them as we grow together.

Filozofi
Early childhood development will most significantly be influenced by the nurturing environment in which children are nourished, lived, and learned. I believe in nurturing the whole child by meeting them where they are. I achieve this by modeling positive behaviors, coaching social-emotional skills, and embracing each child’s unique individualism.
I create a warm, playful, and inclusive environment where every unique child feels cherished, heard, and connected while they learn and grow in a social setting. It is my view that love is the active ingredient in all stages of life, especially early childhood development. It provides the security infants need for physical and emotional growth, while giving older children the emotional validation to explore, create, and remain curious.
Through daily tasks, age-appropriate learning and firsthand experiences, I create a nurturing environment where children build independence and social skills. My daily mission is to build a strong, loving bond with each child so they leave my care every day feeling completely safe and valued.
