Our Teachers

Hello! I am Veronica Vatavu, the founder of Wonderful Children. I have been running Wonderful Children for over 8 years. Before having my own childcare, in my home country of Romania, I was a licensed MD for over 25+ years, with a medical degree in Internal Medicine and Epidemiology. I have spent half of my career working in pediatric clinics and hospitals while treating children of all ages. 

My medical career ended in 2012 when I moved to the US to be with my daughter. During this time I continued what I started in my early medical career - working with children and childcare services.

My medical and nanny experience has taught me that early childhood education  and development is the true path to success. I am an advocate for creating a unique environment for you child, based on age, mental state and personality traits.

With this in mind,  Wonderful Children Daycare was created. Both I and my staff work closely together to educate children and make their early learning experience healthy, fun and enjoyable.

The Wonderful Children Daycare is an individualized learning experience where children, parents, and teachers grow together to instill children with a love of learning.

Wonderful Children Daycare believes childhood is a time for exploring, creating, discovering oneself and meeting the world through many hands-on experiences. It’s a time for blossoming and being cherished.

Wonderful Children administrator, teachers and caregivers are committed to the belief that children can achieve. We believe that most of life’s learning, including how to learn, occurs in the first five years of life.

Our facility is clean, eco-friendly, and inviting with lots of materials and equipment for both indoor and outdoor activities that your child can use to explore at their own pace.

This is the perfect place for your child to blossom. We have carefully selected a loving and caring staff. Together we will work to provide whatever is developmentally appropriate for your children, and help them to their fullest potential.

Play is essential; it is the way young children learn. With our low student-teacher ratios, our program can be as individualized as possible. The children will refine their social-emotional, language, cognitive, gross-motor, and fine-motor skills throughout our curriculum

Location

Wonderful Children is located in cozy, spacious townhouse ( big backyard and front yard) in the Financial District. We are conveniently located close to Barth and just a short walk from the Embarcadero. We are close to numerous parks where kids can run, jump and move!

We provide a service with two full-time childcare providers and additional part-time help.  

Our focus is on arts and creative movement. We see our program as a child’s first step into the real world of school, friends and social norms. We provide a program in a welcoming and nurturing environment where every child is welcome and their well-being is our main priority. We pride ourselves with a diverse community of families whose first language is often not English, but rather from all over the world. Our cultural differences, love for education and children place us among one of the very unique childcares of Financial District.

About our program

• Wonderful Children Day Care is located in the townhome of The Gateway Apartments & Townhouses Financial District San Francisco.
• Our Day Care is open, Monday – Friday / 8:00 am – 6:00 pm 
• We accept children ages 16 weeks – 6 years old.
• We have security- controlled building access and security cameras.
• We have age appropriate curriculum & Lesson plans.
• Our employees possess education and experience in Early Childhood Education and meet all the requirements set by the California licensing standards.
• Our staff is required to complete annual professional development trainings to be able to deliver a higher level of quality learning skills and safety techniques.
