Our Teachers

Hello! I am Ray Chen, the founder of Twin Peaks Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 20 years of experience working with young children.

There are two main teachers that run our program. They have been teaching here for over two years. Rita, worked in a preschool in China prior to moving to the United States. When moving to the United States she worked in a program for three years before joining Twin Peaks. Eva has also been here for two years and worked in another program prior to starting at Twin Peaks. Our teachers strive to build strong relationships with each and every student.

Philosophy

At Twin Peaks Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by following their own unique style of discovery. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

We believe that when children engage in free play they are given the opportunity to develop their own unique personality. Children are encouraged to interact with each other and learn how to communicate effectively.

Our program is also Mandarin Immersion. We believe it is important for students to immerse themselves in different cultures and develop strong language skills.

Location

Twin Peaks Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, spacious single family home in the Merced Heights neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth. We have created a large padded outdoor space with space for students to explore and play. There is also an amazing garden for students.

At Twin Peaks Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
