Our Teachers

Hello! I am Tammy Ho, the founder of Tammy’s Family Childcare. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have over 16 years of experience working with young children. I love to engage my students in hands on activities that will foster creativity and inspire them to love learning.

I am fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. I love to give your children the opportunity to explore traditional Chinese culture at a very young age. I am also a parent. I have raised three kids of my own here in San Francisco. My oldest is now 22 years old! I also have 21 ECE credits and an Associates Teacher Permit from City College of San Francisco. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Philosophy

At Tammy’s Family Childcare, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.

At Tammy’s Family Childcare we truly focus on creating a culturally immersive experience for our students. We believe that learning about other cultures is essential for children and helps them to understand the world around them. We hope that by educated them in a bilingual environment they will grow up more open minded and be able to accept differences.

There is a lot of research supporting the benefits of a bilingual program. A child’s ability to switch between two languages helps to develop inhibition and working memory. Students who receive a bilingual education often are better at decision making and multi-tasking.

Location

Tammy’s Family Childcare is located in a bright, inviting single family home in the Mission Terrace neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), and dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Tammy’s Family Childcare, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
