Our Teachers

Hello! I am Cecilia Chavez, the founder of Ney Street Family Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 13 years of experience working with young children.

It is my goal to create a safe and loving environment that allows kids to feel as if they are a part of a family rather than a childcare. I understand that child care can often be a difficult transition, and I want to make this transition as smooth as possible for your family.

Philosophy

At Ney Street Family Wonderschool, we believe that family childcare should be an extension of the warm relationship between you and your child at your home. With guidance and understanding, we encourage children to learn and develop at their own level. They will gain confidence and self-importance and will have the opportunity to ask questions and explore the world in a safe, controlled environment. We are a caring and loving family dedicated to providing excellent child care.

We are proud to offer a Community Parents Night Out! We are happy to care for our children on the weekend to allow parents to take the night off, relax or go to dinner. Inquire directly if interested!

Location

Ney Street Family Wonderschool is located in a warm, spacious single family home in the Excelsior neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and nature area (for discovering nature and science concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.

At Ney Street Family Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

About our program

At Ney Street, we use a Rhythm of the Day that is flexible and responds to the needs and interests of each individual child. We include free play, arts and crafts activities, story time and plenty of books, music, games, group activities, and outdoor play every day. Our home is designed to be a safe and caring environment for children to feel comfortable and cared for.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/ney-street-family-wonderschool-3489/apply – Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
