Our Teachers

Mary Jean Ramsey, Director & Head Teacher

Before starting her own family child care, Mary Jean worked as the Head Teacher at a child care center in North Beach for 28 years. In recognition of her hard work and dedication to the community, she was given the Champion for Children Award from Mayor Gavin Newsom. She finds satisfaction and happiness in helping to better the lives of children; she knows that this calling will always be an important part of her life.

Brandy Bishop, Assistant Teacher

Brandy Bishop has been working in child care for 14 years. She recently left her position as Site Coordinator at a center-based child care to assist her mother with her home care. Brandy has a major in Business Management and a minor in Child Development as well as extensive knowledge of working with children from many different backgrounds.

Philosophy

At Mary’s Little Lambs, we believe children learn and grow best when they are in a safe and loving environment and when their needs as individuals are understood and met. We provide a loving in-home child care program that features fun, play-based learning and has an expansive collection of activities, toys, books, and games. We encourage children to communicate, work together as a group and, above all, take care of one another. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with your child and family.

Location

Mary’s Little Lambs is located in the Fillmore Center in the heart of Fillmore. It’s a multicultural location just minutes away from our local playground that hosts children from around the neighborhood.

We are located just feet away from grocery stores. Healthy food options are a very important part of Mary’s Little Lambs.

A few other nearby places include a library, art studio, gym, and garden. Everything needed for a fun and productive day of play and adventure is just a short distance away.

About our program

Daytime & Nighttime Care

We provide daytime and nighttime options for enrollment. Please be aware that your child cannot enroll in both for any 24-hour period.

Behavioral Management

Mary’s Little Lambs behavioral management philosophy involves setting limits and offering guidance and positive reinforcement. Unacceptable behavior is explained based on the child’s age and level of comprehension. If repeated problematic behavior occurs, Mary Jean will contact the parent in an effort to work towards a resolution together.

Outings

We often take outings into the community. This includes trips to local playgrounds, businesses, classes, city services (such as fire and police departments), and other children’s attractions.
