Reyna Sola, Director and Head Teacher
Reyna has a Child Development Associate Degree and continues taking classes of Early Child Education From City College of San Francisco to keep learning and improving every day.
She was born and raised in El Salvador. She graduated with an accounting degree there, but wanted to pursue education and started taking pedagogy classes at a private university in El Salvador until she move to United States on 2007.
Since she was a child, she has been extremely fond of reading and believes that reading comprehension will make for the best lifelong learners.
Reyna was inspired by her two curious and world-loving girls to open her daycare to share that same joy of learning and discovery with other children.

Philosophy
Mariposas is a Spanish language immersion, play-based program that feels like your child’s second home. We believe every child develops at their own unique pace, and our goal is to create a nurturing space where each one feels confident to explore, learn and grow through play.
Preschool is the ideal time to introduce a second language - young children’s minds are wonderfully open to new sounds and meanings. Learning another language not only strengthens cognitive development, but also open doors to future opportunities.
At Mariposas, we nourish our students’ curiosity through stories, songs and playful activities in Spanish, helping them build a rich vocabulary in this beautiful and meaningful language.
Location
Mariposas Childcare and Preschool is located in a spacious, warm and welcoming single-family home in the Ingleside neighborhood.
Conveniently close to the 280 freeway, City College and SFSU, our program offers an inviting space designed for learning and play. We have two bright and engaging playrooms filled with toys, blocks and art materials-all encouraging exploration and learning in Spanish.
Children also enjoy daily supervised outdoor playtime in our private backyard, where they can move, imagine and connect with nature.
About our program
Children are immersed in the Spanish language throughout the day. They learn naturally from natives Spanish speaker through music, songs, dance, and storytelling. Our program offers a thoughtful balance between free play and structured activities, supporting both creativity and early learning. We also value outdoor play, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore, move and enjoy fresh air.
