Our Teachers
Hello! I am Maria Medel, the founder of Maria’s Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I am originally from Mexico and have 8 years of experience working with young children. Childcare runs in my family! My sister also runs her own program. I love helping children develop and grow to their full potential.
Philosophy
At Maria’s Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by following their own unique style of discovery. I hope to provide a supportive environment where each child can grow to the best of their potential! My program is a Spanish-Bilingual program and I look forward to teaching the children in both English and Spanish! I want to create an environment where each child is nurtured and loved.
Location
Maria’s Wonderschool is located in a charming, cozy apartment in the Polk Gulch neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and art area (for expressing emotions and ideas).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at the local park and playground. Usually, we go to either John Macaulay or Jefferson Square park. Both are just blocks away from the my program!
