Manos de Angel Wonderschool

Our Teachers

Hello! I am Leeticia Ornelas, the founder of Manos de Angel Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 24 years of experience working with young children.

Before I opened my own program, I volunteered at Head Start while my daughter was young. I also volunteered at Good Samaritan Family Resource Center. I have four kids of my own. I also have three grandkids. I have a lot of experience working with kids.

Philosophy

Manos de Angel is an early childhood program that encourages each child to feel safe, accepted and loved. We promote a shared space for learning and development. Our motto is, “Our home is your second home”.

This program is designed to meet the individual developmental needs of young children. We believe in an environment where the child is able to learn through play. This environment helps a child to be able to develop a positive self-concept and relationships with others. We focus on child directed activities where the child is able to use his/her imagination and creativity. We aim to promote a self-motivated, independent and social child.

We believe the parent is the child’s first teacher as well as the most important provider in the child’s life. For this reason, we really focus on parent/provider partnerships. We believe in making consistent quality improvement efforts to provide services that support the best outcomes for children under our care.

Location

Manos de Angel Wonderschool is located in a bright, warm single family home in the Bayview Heights neighborhood.

Our favorite section of our program is our nature and science area where kids learn about dinosaurs and are encouraged to learn about how things grow. We incorporate plants and gardening into our program to observe things that are alive and growing, just like us!

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/manos-de-angel-wonderschool-3358/apply – Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
