Josie Quinto - Director and Head Teacher

Hello! I am Josie, the founder of Live Love Laugh Daycare & Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow.

I was born and raised in Brasil and I’ve been living in the United States for the past 35 years. Since then, I have been working with children of all ages as a professional child care provider.

For me, taking care of children has always been my passion. As a mother who has raised a child, I understand firsthand that when it comes to your kids, nothing less than the highest standard will do. I know how important it is for a child to be in a healthy, safe, and fun environment. So, that is my primary focus for all children in my care at all times. I provide quality child care in a loving home environment for children from 12 months old to 5 years old.

Philosophy

At Live Love Laugh Daycare & Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps prepare children to thrive in school and the broader world. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.

We are a bilingual program – daily care and activities will be provided in both Portuguese and English. Learning a second language at a young age encourages your child’s intellectual and social development. We are also fluent in “Children”, as we pay close attention to children’s unspoken emotional well-being.

We follow a play-based philosophy. We believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. Our environment invites exploration and is responsive to the children in our care. Children are encouraged to let their own interests facilitate their learning and engagement.

At Live Love Laugh Daycare, children are allowed to be children and families are always a priority. Our child care service is designed to meet the needs and abilities of each child’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social development. Our environments are educational and fun. Our desire is to assist and encourage each child’s abilities and skills throughout every stage of their development. Your child will have a safe, fun, clean and healthy place in which to grow and learn.!

Location

Our program is located in the family friendly neighborhood of Central Richmond in San Francisco. Our program is home-based and we offer an enriching and nurturing learning environment. We also take advantage of our proximity to Golden Gate Park and the Academy of Sciences. Field trips, nature walks, and other exploratory adventures are a key part of our program!

About our program

Here at Live Love Laugh Daycare, your child will discover the world using all five senses as they learn through observation, experiment with toy instruments, explore textures and colors, and learn a variety of words and sounds through playing with other children.

Outdoor and Indoor Playtime

​It’s important for children to have fresh air and new worlds to explore. We enjoy visiting nearby playgrounds like the Academy Of Sciences, going to the library, and going on Nature Walks in the Golden Gate Park.

Other structured activities we engage in include painting, drawing, and games. In addition to our permanent play toys, we have a variety of situational toys set up for special playdates.  

Other Fun Activities:

Mirroring - Children are encouraged to imitate a variety of different actions and sounds.​

Stacking Blocks - Children think and problem solve as they attempt to stack blocks and improve memory skills. We have a variety of loose objects for them to interact with and puzzle over.

​Physical Development and Wellness - They work on their milestones, like rolling over and crawling. They practice coordinating hand movements to begin reaching for and grasping objects. Children start to cooperate with care routines like getting dressed and washing hands. We encourage healthy eating and trying new foods.

Toddler-centered Activities - They are always on the move! When your child is all over the place, they’re discovering their world. Toddlers learn best in safe, loving places where they can explore their way. The activities for this age group are built around their limitless curiosity and their natural desire to push boundaries.

Cognitive Skills - Children practice recognizing people in photographs and hunting for details. They understand the patterns and rhythms of speech, which will help them become familiar with story structure. They learn colors, shapes, and counting. Repetition is key!

Motor Skills - We work on burgeoning motor skills. Children practice hand-eye coordination while building towers. They zip zippers, pick up small items, hold a pencil firmly, and turn the pages of books one by one. This is an excellent time to introduce a variety of textured materials, picture books, crayons, and paint.

Overall, here at Live Love Laugh, kids will be encouraged to explore their world in their own time in a fun and safe way.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/live-love-laugh-daycare-wonderschool/apply – Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the school.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
