Flor Bustillo - Director and Head Teacher
Hello! I am Flor, the founder of Little Lambs Daycare & Child Care. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 6 years of experience working with young children.
I am a mother of four children (my oldest is 25 and my youngest is 13 years old). I cared for an supported the education of all of my children and decided I wanted to start my child care in 2015.
I am originally from Honduras and share aspects of my native language and culture with the children in my program.

My now 9 month old daughter has been going to Flor since she was 3 months old and we absolutely love Flor and the attention and care she gives to our daughter and the other kids. You can really tell how much she loves these children; every time I drop off my daughter, Flor just showers her with love. And when I come to pick her up, sometimes my daughter doesn’t want to leave! She loves Flor and gives her so many smiles and hugs. Flor is really great about socializing the children together, as she takes them outside to nearby parks and libraries. The older toddlers are so sweet as well, they’ve all been taught to love each other, and they love to blow kisses at my daughter when she arrives and leaves daycare. It is just the sweetest thing to witness and I’m so glad to be a part of it! - Elissa
My son has been with Flor since he was 4 months old (now 19 months). He absolutely adores her and we have been completely pleased with her care this past year. She is kind, calm, and attentive. The kids get to the park daily and she often sends pictures of their outings. Her home is spotless and she is incredibly accommodating of our sometimes variable schedule. - Sarah
My daughter has been going to daycare full time with Flor for two months now and we are very happy with it. My baby is 9 months old, and Flor has been so observant and attentive to little things that can be tough with a nonverbal child, like whether certain foods cause upset stomach etc - it feels sometimes like my kid is the only one there! (Although I know the other children get the same great care). I always get big smiles from all of the kids on pickup and drop off time. Flor and her assistant speak Spanish to the kids and take them to the park or the local art center almost daily, weather permitting. The daycare is run out of her home, which is well set up with a play area, nap area, and high chairs in the kitchen for lunch. - Kate
Flor and her assistant have been taking care of our twins for over six months now and we are so happy! They go out almost every day, to the park, various playgrounds, and she takes great advantage of the Mission Arts & Rec Center nearby! The kids do a variety of activities, including dance parties, playing music, art, and “lessons” where they play at learning their colors, letters, etc. They speak Spanish with the kids, and even though we speak English at home, our 2.5 year olds have make great progress at growing up bilingual! Flor has a good sense of what is developmentally appropriate for different ages and she continues to take child development classes to keep learning more. She provides snacks and we send lunch. We highly recommend Little Lambs Day Care! - Laura
Philosophy
*Please note we are currently full for infants! Toddler tours only at this time. Thank you!*
Play-based:
At Little Lambs Daycare & Child Care, our mission is to help our children develop a love for learning. We give opportunities for children to learn and play together and strengthen the academic and social skills necessary for a successful child.
Our program follows a play-based philosophy. I believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. My environment is responsive to the children in our care and allows children’s own interests to help facilitate their learning and engagement.
Our philosophy is to support every child in a stimulating environment. We serve children with a wide variety of learning styles and needs. We believe in a quality early childhood education, teaching values from a young age and building up our local community.
Spanish Immersion:
Our program is Spanish-immersion. All of our teachers are native Spanish teachers and we love getting to help teach a second language to children.
Location
Little Lambs Daycare & Preschool is located in a warm, welcoming apartment in the Mission neighborhood.
We’ve thoughtfully designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses).
Children will have go to a local park everyday for outdoor time!
