Monica Leon - Owner
Hello! I am Monica, the founder of Just Like My Little Home - Spanish-immersion child care.
I first started a family child care with my sister in 2013. We were inspired to start a program because we both love to work with young children and help them learn and grow.
I have 7 years of experience working with young children. I am a mother of three children, ages 10, 13, and 16 years old.
I am originally from Mexico and incorporate aspects of my culture to my program, including speaking Spanish with the children and cooking snacks and meals with Mexican influences (many of the children LOVE the rice and beans I prepare!).
I feel grateful to be able to offer my program to families in my community.

Testimonials
“Monica & Lupita took care of our infant from the time she was 9 months old. We were really anxious about how quickly she would be able to adapt to a new environment away from home, but they took her in as a part of their family and soon she was looking forward to going. I absolutely love the care and support they provided for my daughter and all the kids in their care.” - Vijit
Philosophy
At Just Like My Little Home - Spanish-immersion child care, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished.
We are an immersion program – daily care and activities will be provided in Spanish, and children will be encouraged to speak Spanish in return. Learning a second language at a young age encourages your child’s intellectual and social development.
Location
Just Like My Little Home - Spanish-immersion child care is located in a bright, welcoming apartment in the Mission District neighborhood.
We’ve thoughtfully designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.
At Just Like My Little Home - Spanish-immersion child care, we provide a loving home away from home.
