Our Teachers

Hello! I am Charlette Carnegia, the founder of Creative Beginning’s Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 20 years of experience working with young children.

I am born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and a proud mother of two boys. I am blessed to be a part of a very tight knit family. My nieces and nephews have been in my program and it has been a pleasure watching them grow up. My family is very involved in education and the success of students.

Philosophy

At Creative Beginning’s Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished.

We believe in the importance of a play based learning environment. Students are able to learn the most when interacting with each other. This sparks creativity and helps develop language skills.

It is important for me to continue to serve my community. I am a firm believer that every child should receive a strong education. The first few years of their life are the most important. I will continue to work closely with Children’s Council.

Location

Creative Beginning’s Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, cozy condominium in the Bayview neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Children need space to run, jump, and move! We also take trips to the local library for storytime occasionally.

At Creative Beginning’s Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the social and emotional growth of each child.
