Our Teachers

My name is Johanna Ruiz, I worked with children since 2014 and I am working in the field of CHW ‘s in the Mission Neighborhood since 2019. As a Mother I love take care of young children, and my passion is to provides a developmentally-based program in an environment designed especially for them. we work to develop caring, respectful, and responsive relationships with children from infancy through preschool by partnering with families to support a child’s growth and development. Respect for each child’s individualized pattern and timing of growth, as well as individual personality, learning style, interests, culture and family background are central to the fabric of daily interactions and the direction the curriculum follows. We value the interaction between the individual and environment, seeing it as the basis for more complex leaning and growth

Philosophy

At our childcare facility, we believe in providing a Language Immersion program inspired by Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori philosophies. Additionally, we offer a home-based, dual language environment that nurtures social, emotional, and behavioral skills while supporting developmental milestones. Our culturally diverse setting integrates Spanish and English lessons, blending Montessori, Waldorf, Nature-Based, and Play-Based approaches. Children are encouraged to develop cooperation and problem-solving skills through a curriculum encompassing academics, art, cooking, gardening, music, and creative play, with outdoor activities integrated into their daily schedule.

About our program

Our schedule and space is structured to allow children to pace themselves and select activities bases on their individual needs. Knowledge is not given to children; they learn through playful and meaningful interactions with materials and people. This means that each child processes experiences uniquely. We adapt and plan curriculum in response to this dynamic character of learning for young children.
