Our Teachers

Hello! I am Celia Hernandez, the founder of Hernandez Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 20 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy

Children need an opportunity to explore and experience a variety of activities, to give meaning to the powerful phrase “I AM - I CAN DO IT.” Each child will be seen as a unique individual and experiences will be based on the needs of each child to develop their self-dependence and self-esteem, which are both very necessary for a successful life!

Cada niño será visto como único individuo y las experiencias se harán en base a las necesidades de cada niño a desarrollar su auto dependencia y su estima, que son muy necesarias para una vida exitosa!

Location

Hernandez Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the San Fernando neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), our beautiful outdoor space for gardening and art, and music and movement area (for physical activity and cultural learning).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Hernandez Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Hernandez Family Child Care Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour or attend an Open House event.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
