Our Teachers
Hello! I am Maria Chavez, the founder of Marilu’s Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 12 years of experience working with young children.
Philosophy
At Marilu’s Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.
Location
Marilu’s Wonderschool is located in a warm and welcoming apartment in the Redwood City neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).
Children will have some outdoor time every day at a local park or playground. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At Marilu’s Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.
