Our Teachers
Daianne, the director, has a deep-rooted passion for education, having worked with children since she was 15 years old. She started as a teacher for kindergartners at church and a leader for a Scout Girls Club, managing 8 to 10 kids at a time.
Daianne studied child development in psychology school for two and a half years and worked as a nanny for about three years after moving to the US. She has been a stay-at-home mom since the birth of her daughter, Chloe. Inspired by her experiences and the shortcomings she observed in traditional school approaches, Daianne founded The Wild Sprouts to merge the best aspects of forest and traditional schools, focusing on nature and play-based learning. Her homeschool learning pod offers a blend of Montessori methods, forest school principles, healthy foods, academic elements, and sensory play.

Philosophy
At The Wild Sprouts, our educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that children thrive when they are given the freedom to explore, discover, and connect with the natural world. We combine Montessori principles with Forest School practices to create a holistic, child-centered learning environment that nurtures curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Key Values:
1. Child-Led Learning:
We believe that children learn best when they follow their interests and passions. Our teachers act as guides, supporting each child’s unique journey and encouraging self-directed exploration.
2. Nature Connection:
Spending time in nature is integral to our program. We prioritize outdoor activities that help children develop a deep appreciation for the environment, fostering respect and stewardship for the natural world.
3. Holistic Development:
Our approach addresses the whole child, balancing academic learning with emotional, social, and physical development. We integrate sensory play, creative arts, and practical life skills into our curriculum to ensure well-rounded growth.
4. Community and Collaboration:
We value the importance of community and collaboration. Children learn to work together, share experiences, and build strong, supportive relationships with their peers and teachers.
5. Healthy Living:
We promote healthy living through nutritious snacks, organic non-GMO food options, and the use of toxin-free products. Our environment supports children’s well-being and immunity building.
6. High-Quality Standards:
Our commitment to quality is reflected in our choice of materials, toys, and educational resources. We use high-quality, safe products to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children.
