Our Teachers
Miss Kelly got her bachelor’s degree in finance and psychology at the University of Denver, Colorado, and achieved a master’s degree in human development and early childhood education. During her internship at Dallas, she spent six months in an autism agency in Dallas, the tough experience with children who were diagnosed with autism didn’t make her flinch. On the contrary, she knows that regardless of healthy or not, each child is different and they are the most precious gift that their parents brought to the world.
Ms. Kelly has a passion to make a difference in one’s life. She likes to watch the children grow and learn through their curiosity of the world. She also believes that children are independent, kind, and creative individuals with a uniqueness that should be nurtured and expressed.
Ms. Kelly has been working as a Chinese teacher for 5 years. After she gave birth to her own babies, she decided to open her own daycare and preschool. She will provide developmentally appropriate program that allows children to be open minded, think for themselves, and have the ability to express themselves.
Philosophy
Little Bud Family Daycare and Preschool is a bilingual program serving children ages 1 to 5 years old. We aim to provide a safe, enriching, engaging and diverse space for children to reach their developmental milestones. It is a place that values forming connections above all else. To us, nothing is more vital than the relationship between administration, teachers, parents and families all for the success of our young learners.
Our lessons and activities follow the developmental guidelines as outlined by the California Preschool Curriculum while using the Emergent Curriculum approach. The Emergent Curriculum approach is a student-driven method of learning where teachers form close relationships with the children and offer activities based on the specific interests of each cohort. This offers children deeper engagement with their learning process and unique developmental needs. Along with activities, projects are designed following monthly themes to let children explore different topics and gain a wider knowledge base.
Through our carefully curated lessons, activities and projects, our students learn to be curious explorers, independent thinkers, and self-confident individuals who are models of positive behavior while learning in a multicultural environment. Our spacious outdoor space allows students to finesse their motor skills, form friendships with other age groups, and develop crucial social-emotional skills such as knowing how to compromise and communicate.
Little Bud Family Daycare and Preschool offers daily Mandarin circle time and lessons to those students and families who are interested. We welcome students of all cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities. If not participating in the Mandarin program, we offer alternative activities. Based on the number of student enrollment, we also offer language enrichment for non-Mandarin families.
About our program
