It takes a big heart to shape little minds…this is Camila. She has the biggest heart. If you are looking for a safe, education-focused and family feeling care option, Little Learners is the place for you. My son was with her for nearly a year and we had a phenomenal experience watching him grow comfortable and confident in his own skin. He also acquired language skills in both English and Spanish, all before the age of 2!
Most importantly, my son adores Camila. She shows him plenty of love and was able to give him the freedom to explore that I have not always been able to give, while also keeping him safe. The program is organized and well structured with a focus on development. Anyone can obtain a daycare license, but Camila is an educator. She continues to grow her education throughout the years and even took two classes while our family was with her. The students get free play time in the morning and afternoon, go to one of the beautiful local parks Playa Vista has to offer most days and participate in fun and educational activities on a regular basis. One thing I love is that the children ages rang from 1-4, but activities are always engaging and age appropriate by their level.
But enough about the program, let’s talk about the exceptional care she gives these children. My son can be a picky eater, Camila always communicates his daily mood, sleep and meal status and has hardly sent home a full lunch box. She and her helpers work with each child and finds creative ways to get them to eat and they never give up prematurely. She replied to texts during the day and posts emails and photos to a common App for families.
If you are fortunate enough to land a spot in this daycare, take it and thank me later. We love and miss you, Camila!

Camila’s program has been amazing for our 2-year-old son who has been in her program since he is 7-months-old. Camila is absolutely amazing, kind and patient and our son has been thriving under her care.
Most importantly, our boy is not only learning, but he’s also loved and happy! He is always excited to go to daycare and loves Camila and Leslie with his whole heart and they love him right back.
We couldn’t be happier with the way Camila takes care of our son!

Our daughter started at Camila’s in-home pre-school when she was 2. We were so excited to find a language immersion program near the south bay as our daughter had already started learning Spanish and we wanted to continue language immersion for her. Right off the bat we noticed how clean and organized Camila was.
She structured the day well and always had unique craft ideas for the kids, probably because of her 10+ years in early education. She really loved on our daughter as if she was her own, and we felt like she provided a very safe and engaging environment. She also communicated very well and we would receive almost daily photos and videos. When I found out my husband’s job was moving us to CO I was super saddened to be leaving Cami’s program. It’s really one of the best in the area! I would highly recommend Little Learners to any parent.

Camila knows education for young children. The patience and consistency that she incorporates with her teaching is a gift. We all know that with their short attention spans it takes an angel to keep them organized and on track. It is amazing watching her with the children and how they react promptly with her.
My child loves her and her assistant to the moon and they have taught him so much with Spanish. He knows way more than me and half the time he points things out in Spanish and teaches me new words. The schools has taught him even more how to be patient, share, and communicate with all ages. This is my first child, but seeing how much he enjoys it puts a warmth in my heart. I thank Camila for giving me such confidence in her. Also, for making me feel like I made the best decision for my child.

The best gift you can give your child is a great education and even better to give them the gift of a second language without them fighting you to learn it! Camila’s full Spanish immersion daycare has been amazing for my 18 month old son who has been in her program since 9 months. He doesn’t speak properly yet but his limited vocabulary is nearly all in Spanish like agua, más, por favor, gracias, “abbas” (abres…took awhile to figure this one out).
Camila’s background and qualifications in early childhood education sets her program apart from the others. This is more than just a daycare, it’s like pre-pre-school. My husband and I are constantly amazed and surprised by how much he is learning. Camila takes the care and time to plan out and schedule each day to the T for the kids to constantly learn and thrive in an enriched play-based environment. She is patient, kind and compassionate while still maintaining structure with boundaries and ground rules.
I never could have imagined leaving my child at a daycare at such a young age pre-mommy days (sorry for mom-shaming!!) but my baby is now at Camila’s the longest compared to the rest of the kids at 50 hours a week. When you see your baby wave bye and crawl/walk into the playroom at drop off and smiling ear to ear at pick up after a long day, you know you’ve picked the right place.

Camila is the best! She has tons things to do with kids. My Daniil was always happy to go to day care. Just in 2 month he started speaking Spanish but before the Little Learners he did not speak at all even in native language ( Russian). I am sure this is the best place for kids and it worth everything

Little Learners Child Care and Preschool was our son’s first school experience and it was a true blessing! He adapted fast. In no time he was always excited to go to school to see his teachers and friends. Camila is incredibly amazing!
She’s not only sweet, caring, professional and a responsible teacher, but also my son thrived in her school. He learned so much, became more outgoing and gained self confidence. We will always be deeply grateful to Camila and her amazing school. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby.

I’d love to share a bit about our wonderful experience with Little Learners Childcare and Preschool, and the director, Camila Alvarez. My two-year-old daughter is thriving under her guidance. Camila nurtures her creativity and values her adventurous spirit. She has learned a lot socially and academically. She’s picked up numbers, colors, certain letters, new songs, and the Spanish language (wow! ). My daughter often sings new songs or talks at home about new things that she learns during her time at Camila’s. In addition, I know she gets lots of time just to play and explore and be a toddler :)
I’m a teacher myself (elementary level) and I can tell a lot of thought and planning went into how Camila structures the day. I think this is where her years of experience as a pre-school teacher really shine. The mix of age-appropriate lessons, play, projects and neighborhood excursions is terrific. In addition, she is continually thinking of engaging themes and projects. Just recently their garden/ vegetable theme had the coolest projects!
Camila’s school is lovely. The space is clean and organized and has learning and play materials readily available. One entire bedroom is set up as a classroom space. Since our area is so walkable with many kid friendly spaces/ parks, I’m glad the program makes use of them.
Overall, I could not be more pleased with Little Learners and am feel so lucky that my daughter attends this program.
Philosophy
Little Learners is a Spanish-immersion early childhood education program. Our goal is to accompany the child in the development of their abilities as expected for their age, aiming to create independent and confident children. Our program is a guide for children that allows them to learn from playing, problem solving, discovering and questioning about their experiences together with their peers and educators.
Location
Little Learners Spanish-immersion Child Care and Preschool is located in a cozy, warm apartment in the Playa Vista neighborhood.
We’ve carefully designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
At Little Learners Spanish-immersion Child Care and Preschool, our goal is to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
About our program
We think every child is capable of learning, but each child has his or her own personality and responds differently to each experience. It is important to be able to understand and know the need and learning level of each child to guide them and help them achieve their goals.
To do this, we provide them with creative learning activities in a dynamic and entertaining way.
The first 5 years of a child’s life are the most important in terms of brain growth and development. Therefore, it is indispensable that they have access to quality care and learning during these early years.
Transition to Spanish Language
Our program is a full Spanish-immersion program. We encourage children to acquire this second language in the same way they acquire their native language.
Studies show full language immersion is the most effective way to learn a second language. That said, we work with each family to help transition new children into the program and can also speak some English as the child is transitioning.
