Our Teachers

Hi, I’m Jodi and I have been running my own child care program for over 25 years. I switched careers when my kids were young because I was struggling to find child care in our community. I spoke with someone who was about to start her own home-based daycare and she worked with me to get started. I was a Dental Assistant prior to transitioning into early education.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and playing softball (in my heart, I’m a huge sports fanatic!).

Philosophy

Mason Family Wonderschool is a play-based program where children can be children. We emphasize social emotional learning through group activities, cooperation, and providing a safe haven where kids can be themselves.

Location

Our program is located in an upscale, private neighborhood in Pasadena, CA. Our community is kind, friendly, and engaged. Our indoor learning space is bright and welcoming.

We are located near a few major highways:

  • 210 - five minutes away
  • 134 - ten minutes away
  • 10 - fifteen minutes away
  • 710 - thirty minutes away

We spend lots of refreshing time outdoors in our backyard.

About our program

It is important that every child in our program feels comfortable, safe, and understands they are loved. We have created a welcoming environment so any child who walks into our home feels as if they are a part of the family.

We enjoy reading with the kids, interacting with them during indoor and outdoor play, and doing arts and crafts together. We have blocks, dinosaurs, teething toys, dolls, books and other age-appropriate toys made for infants and toddlers in our space. With mixed ages, it is always exciting to see them explore the area around them and learn more about themselves through the activities in which they choose to engage.

It is important to us that the children in our program are able to work together, play together and share. We like to focus on building social emotional or “soft skills” with all of the children so they are developmentally moving forward to be ready for kindergarten. We love seeing our kids grow and progress.

In the case of any conflicts, we guide the children in taking time to self-reflect and work through issues together. We instill into every child the importance of problem solving and playing well with others.

++Growth Mindset:++ Even though we have over 30 years of experience, we are constantly looking to enhance and elevate our program. We have a genuine love for what we do and would not have it any other way.

Parent communication

We are flexible when it comes to communication - we talk with parents face-to-face, by phone, or through text message.

Meals

Every meal we serve is organic, healthy and hot. Here are some sample items from our menu:

  • Breakfast - Oatmeal, bananas, eggs, sausage, milk
