Malinda Parks: Director

Malinda is a dedicated and passionate Teacher with a profound commitment to childhood development. She runs a licensed after-school care program, committed to providing a safe environment where a child feels valued and celebrated for their unique abilities and background. Having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Development/Concentration in Teacher Education, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of child development theories, pedagogical approaches, and best practices in child development. With an impressive 20 years in the childcare business, Malinda has honed her skills in helping children develop essential life skills such as communication, empathy, teamwork, self-expression, and independence. In recognition of her genuine love for teaching and a deep commitment to the well-being and growth of children, Malinda was honored as 2021-2022 Early Childhood Education Site Teacher of the Year, a testament to her dedication and impact on the children she serves.

Philosophy

Laughing Smiles’s mission is rooted in the belief that every child should have the opportunity to feel good about their abilities and uniqueness. This program strives to support each child’s academic, social, and emotional development while easing the demands on working parents. Inspiring a lifelong love of learning and laying the groundwork for future academic success.

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac in a single-family home in Palmdale. With access to parks, schools, shopping, and Fwy.

About our program

Laughing Smiles After School Program is structured and supervised. It provides a safe and enriching environment for children after their regular school day ends. The program is designed to support the needs of working parents and offers a variety of activities to keep children engaged, entertained, and learning. Time and support are dedicated to children to complete their homework assignments. The program focuses on fostering social and emotional development, through group activities and games. Also, children will have the opportunity to develop communication skills, build friendships and learn to work collaboratively with their peers. Emotional support and guidance are provided to help children navigate and manage their emotions effectively.
