Our Teachers

Hello! I am Gaby Pereya, the founder of Pereyra Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community.

I am proud to offer a Spanish-bilingual program because studies have shown that being exposed to a second language at a young age is great for cognitive development. As a provider, I am always learning best practices in early childhood education. I want what is best for all of the children enrolled in my program and work hard to make sure they are healthy, safe, and loved while in my care.

Philosophy

My goal is to enhance fun, learning, self-expression, positive self-image, self-esteem, and motivation for children in my care. I also work hard to promote cognitive development and friendship between children of other cultures and customs. I believe it is important for children to learn how to be respectful and kind from an early age.

Pereyra Family Child Care implements an Educational Program where all children from all ages in the program participate all year-round. In addition to my program, children will be participating in reading, writing, math, dramatic play, music and art, and various inside and outside activities.

Location

Pereyra Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, warm single family home in the Montebello neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in spacious backyard. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Pereyra Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.
