Our Teachers

Hello! I am Michelle Valencia, the founder of Valencia Early Learning Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 8+ years of experience working with young children.

Before opening my program, I was a stay at home mom with three kids of my own. After several years of running my in-home child care program, I decided to go back to school and obtained my Associate’s Degree in Child Development. I believe in the importance of always continuing my education and learning best practices in the field of early childhood.

One of my favorite hobbies is learning new recipes. I enjoy cooking home-made and nutritious meals for my family and the children enrolled in my program to keep everyone healthy and happy.

Philosophy

At Valencia Early Learning Child Care Wonderschool, children are encouraged to learn through play. I implement the Creative Curriculum to plan developmentally appropriate routines and activities suited for quality early childhood education. I believe that every child learns in their own unique way.

My favorite part of the day is Circle Time where I introduce our weekly theme each Monday and we review a lesson for the day. I love designing my classroom for the holidays and seasons, and also rotate my materials on a regular basis so kids never get bored here. My top priorities are health and safety, so I am constantly sanitizing and organizing my space to keep my learning environment clean.

Parents can trust that their children will be in good hands here. We work hard to follow all licensing rules and regulations and go above and beyond with providing quality care.

Location

Valencia Early Learning Child Care Wonderschool is located near the 101 freeway in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the Boyle Heights neighborhood. I live in a very family-friendly neighborhood that is walking distance to Dolores Mission private school, Pecan park, and several churches.

Weather permitting, children will spend at least an hour per day in our spacious outdoor classroom. Children absolutely love playing out here!

At Valencia Early Learning Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
