Our Teachers
Hello! I am Veronica Sanchez, the founder of Sanchez Family Child Care Wonderschool (Mid-City). I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow.
The seed for the idea to open my child care program was planted during my own challenging search for child care 14 years ago. When my first daughter Ana was born, my husband and I spent hours visiting various programs and always left disappointed by the junk food they served or the overuse of television. We didn’t want our daughter to spend the whole day watching cartoons when she could be reading books, expressing her creativity through art projects, or spending time in fresh air. We saw a need for high-quality care in our community, so we decided to open our own program to serve families looking for a high-quality option.
Running my child care program is truly what I feel like I was meant to do. Every day, I strive to give families everything I was looking for in my own child care search: a program where children feel free to learn and explore in a safe, clean and educational environment. I have a group chat with parents (and some grandparents!) of children in my program where I send regular photo & video updates of our healthy home-made meals and creative activities.
Below is a picture of my fun-loving family - my husband and my three daughters: Ana (14 years old), Ashley (9 years old) and Sarah (1 year old). We welcome you to our program where we treat all children like our own!
Philosophy
Sanchez Family Child Care Wonderschool (Mid-City) is a child-centered learning environment where we’re committed to providing exceptional care. Our goal is to promote positive self-image and confidence in each child so that they can learn and grow. For example, we train children how to tie their own shoes, ask for what they want (i.e. through sign language for infants), and express their emotions in healthy ways. We promote the physical, mental, and social-emotional wellbeing of each child.
We recognize that parents and providers are critical partners in a child’s early education and development. You can expect to receive regular photo and video updates throughout the day about our delicious meals, fun activities, and interactive lessons. We tailor our curriculum to be age-appropriate with the goal of supporting each child to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
Location
Sanchez Family Child Care Wonderschool (Mid-City) is located in a welcoming single family home in the Mid-City neighborhood. We’re located in a safe and clean family-friendly neighborhood off the Santa Monica freeway.
Children can’t wait to spend time outside in our spacious outdoor classroom. We have dramatic play costumes, huge blocks, tables for messier arts & crafts activities, and a large lawn where children can run and play games. On sunnier days, we even encourage children to eat, relax and read books outside in the shade. Kids love it out here!
