Our Teachers
Hello! I am Verlinda Walker, the founder of Precious Little Heartbeat. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have over 15 years of experience working with young children. I have worked as a childcare teacher and state head start teacher in the greater Los Angeles area. I hold a Site Supervisor Permit, which the Department of Education holds as a qualification to oversee childcare operations and oversee childcare curriculum.
I am a single mother of two, who once needed quality care. Which I saw the need in my community so I opened up my home and my heart to provide this well-needed service to others who need it. “The opportunity to work with children and families is the best and most rewarding job.”

Testimonials
I am pleased with the service s this childcare has provided to my son. I appreciate the afternoon report about my child’s day. My child feels comfortable and safe when I drop him off. He is learning to socialize with other children. I am very happy to see my son learning and developing for him to transition to preschool. I am excited to continue receiving services with Ms. Walker and seeing all the new things my child will learn.

I like how Ms. Walker and Micaela teach the children the majority of everything they need to know before the children head off to elementary school. My children look forward to going to Precious Little Heartbeat School each day and they really love the food they serve. I like that my children can tell me about what they have learned. Ms. Walker and Micaela, please keep doing an awesome job.

Ever since my son has been going to Precious Little Heartbeat, he has advanced in speech and other skills, he sings songs, say his ABC’s and speaks clearly. Ms. Walker has earned my trust even though I was a bit hesitant at first (about my son going to childcare). I appreciate how she gives my son and all the other children a health check upon entry. I highly recommend Ms. Walker to anyone seeing childcare. She’s awesome.

Ms. Walker is really an amazing woman, she’s has helped my family so much. I could not be more grateful for that. She consistently showed enthusiasm, attention to detail and compassion to us. Coming from another county, and not knowing anybody was hard, but when I met Ms. Walker everything became easy. She’s so open-minded, she tried to learn french, She made us feel at home. I knew i could trust her on the first day I met her. I have the utmost confidence in her judgment and always felt confident to leave my two children in her facility. Precious Little Heartbeat is awesome my kids feel great, they are happy, they can play and learn in a safe and loving environment. Micaela is amazing, she so nice and caring. I could not think of a better place to watch my kids. they have devoted their life to other people’s kids every day and that, I have the most respect for them. Cindy R.

Philosophy
At Precious Little Heartbeat Wonderschool, we believe that every child is a unique and valuable individual, with the potential to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Our philosophy is grounded in the STEAM approach, which emphasizes the importance of science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a child’s learning and development.
We believe that children learn best in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and engaging. Our curriculum is designed to foster curiosity and creativity, while also challenging children to think critically and solve problems. We encourage children to explore and discover, to ask questions and seek answers, and to develop a deep understanding of the world around them.
We believe that a child’s learning should be holistic, encompassing not just academic knowledge, but also emotional, social, and physical development. We believe that a child’s emotional well-being is just as important as their cognitive development, and we strive to create an environment that is supportive and nurturing.
At Precious Little Heartbeat Wonderschool, we recognize the importance of technology in our modern society, and we believe that children should be equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a technology-centric world. However, we also believe that children need to develop a broad range of skills, including creativity, problem-solving, and communication, in order to succeed in any field.
In summary, our philosophy is based on the STEAM approach, which emphasizes the importance of science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a child’s learning and development. We believe in fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. We believe in developing the whole child, including their emotional, social, and physical development. And we believe in equipping children with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a technology-centric society, while also fostering a broad range of skills that will serve them well in any field.
Location
Precious Little Heartbeat Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, inviting single-family home in the Central Alameda, South Central and the Metro Area neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem-solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).
Children will have some outdoor time every day in my private yard. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At Precious Little Heartbeat Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
