Hola! Soy Margarita Ortega, la fundadora de Pequeño Mundo de Elefantes Wonderschool. Me inspiré para comenzar mi propio programa porque percibí la necesidad de una atención de alta calidad en mi comunidad y porque amo a los niños. Tengo 27 años de experiencia trabajando con niños pequeños, y me dedico a aprender y crecer siempre y continuar tomando clases en educación infantil temprana para poder brindar la mejor atención posible para los niños en mi programa.

Hello! I am Margarita Ortega, the founder of Pequeño Mundo de Elefantes Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community, and because I love children. I have many years of experience working with young children – 27! – but I am committed to always learning and growing, and continue to take classes in early childhood education so I can provide the best possible care for children in my program.

Philosophy

At Pequeño Mundo de Elefantes Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by exploring the world around them – inside, outside, and everything in between! It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home, but also helps prepare children to thrive in school and the broader world. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.

En Pequeño Mundo de Elefantes Wonderschool, creemos que los niños crecen, aprenden y prosperan explorando el mundo que los rodea – ¡dentro, fuera y todo lo que está en el medio! Nuestro objetivo es proveer un ambiente que haga que los niños se sientan bienvenidos y en casa, pero también ayuda a preparar a los niños para prosperar en la escuela y en el mundo en general. En nuestro programa, los niños se sentirán apoyados cuando se involucren con nuevas ideas y aprendizajes.

Location

¡Bienvenido a Pequeño Mundo de Elefantes Wonderschool! We are located in a spacious, welcoming single family home in Boyle Heights.

We’ve designed our care environment – including a beautiful indoor/outdoor space especially designed for infants – with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include our art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), the sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), and our nature area (for discovering nature and science concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in our private yard, with lots of toys, play structures, and space to run, jump, and move! We think connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Pequeño Mundo de Elefantes Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
