Our Teachers

Hello! I am Irma Magana, a proud parent and the founder of Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool. After working as an assistant in other family child care programs, I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community.

I believe that education unlocks countless opportunities. To further my own knowledge about early childhood education, I am currently taking classes at East Los Angeles college in the evenings and am always learning new things from other child care providers. I see parents as partners on this journey and welcome open and frequent communication about how I can continue to serve the needs of each unique child.

¡Hola! Soy Irma Magana, una madre y la fundadora de Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool. Después de trabajar como asistente en otros programas de cuidado infantil, me inspiró para comenzar mi propio programa porque veía la necesidad de proveer educación de la primera infancia de alta calidad en mi comunidad.

Creo que la educación abre oportunidades innumerables. Para ampliar mi propio conocimiento sobre la educación de la primera infancia, actualmente estoy tomando clases en la universidad de East Los Angeles por las noches y siempre estoy aprendiendo cosas nuevas de otros proveedores de cuidado infantil. Veo a los padres como “partners” en este viaje y agradezco la comunicación abierta y frecuente sobre cómo puedo continuar atendiendo las necesidades de cada niño único.

Philosophy

At Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool, we believe that all children have the right to receive a high-quality education. We’re proud to deliver this service to our community and have created a nice, safe atmosphere for children to learn and play. We promise to provide only the best for your children, including healthy meals, age-appropriate learning materials, creative activities and daily supervised outdoor play time.

Location

Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the Boyle Heights community. We are between Lorena Street Elementary School and MSGR. Ramon Garcia Recreation Center in a child-friendly neighborhood.

We’ve designed our program to serve the diverse needs of families in our community, offering flexible, part-time schedules, long hours, and spots available for infants, toddlers and after-school students. We have a dedicated room for infants with plenty of high-quality toys to spark their interest and creativity. Toddlers engage in a variety of activities throughout the day, from arts and crafts and dramatic play to reading, science and music.

At Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel safe while having the freedom to learn and explore.

Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool esta ubicado en una casa hermosa y acogedora en la comunidad de Boyle Heights. Estamos entre Lorena Street Elementary School y MSGR. Ramon Garcia Recreation Center en un barrio amigable para los niños.

Hemos diseñado nuestro programa para satisfacer las diversas necesidades de las familias en nuestra comunidad, ofreciendo horarios flexibles, largas horas y espacios para bebés, niños pequeños y estudiantes después de la escuela. Tenemos una sala dedicada para bebés con muchos juguetes de alta calidad para despertar su interés y creatividad. Los niños pequeños participan en una variedad de actividades durante todo el día, desde “arts and crafts” y juego dramático hasta lectura, ciencias y música.

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Magana Family Child Care Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour or attend an Open House event.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
