Our Teachers
Hi, I’m Sekia, a passionate educator whose life’s work includes illuminating the lives of children. After traveling 3,300 miles from Maryland to Southern California, I’m delighted to announce I’m opening my own family daycare facility.
In my early teen years, I often worked with the younger neighborhood children to make up dance routines, and participate in dramatic play and art activities. I always dreamed of working in a child care center and volunteered at the family child care center across the the culdesac. When I was old enough, I obtained a workers permit to work at the child care center up the street.
In 2002, I attended college for Early Childhood Education at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. There I learned the fundamentals of working with students Kindergarten though 6th grade, and I have been working with children ever since.
Currently I’m enrolled at Northcentral University for my Masters of Education specializing in Special Education. My anticipated graduation date is June, 2020.
My goal is to continuously gain knowledge about how to meet the needs of children. Through what I learn I plan to implement structures so all students may achieve their academic potential. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and my two-year-old son. I call them, “The Kevin’s.” I also love spending time outdoors being one with nature!

At Kaleidoscope Kids Wonderschool, our mission consists of providing a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe. Our unique Family Child Care offers various activities that are specifically designed to encourage each child’s growth. Through cooperative play and creative activities, kids reach their social, emotional and physical milestones naturally and with ease.
Location
Kaleidoscope Kids Wonderschool is located in a bright, welcoming apartment in Hollywood. We are next to the Hollywood Bowl and right off of the 101 Freeway. This is the perfect program for someone on a daily commute on the 101!
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests.
Children will spend time outdoors every day in my private patio, as well as the spacious courtyard. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
About our program
With our progressive and holistic early childhood education philosophy, we understand that each child has unique needs and interests. We provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities.
When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Once they leave Kaleidoscope Kids Wonderschool, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
