Our Teachers
Hello! I am Naira Sargsyan, the founder of Bright Childhood Wonderschool. I am the mother of two loving teenagers. My philosophy is to think like a parent, first and foremost. I was inspired to start my program because I have been energized by working with children since I was young. I have 21 years of experience in this field and several degrees in ECE, including my Site Supervisor Certificate. I am an expert in childhood development who never stops learning herself. I love seeing the children that go through my program thrive and prosper.
Achievements
Philosophy
At Bright Childhood Wonderschool, we see the child as an individual and we prioritize their emotional, physical, social and cognitive needs. We use the power of play to make learning fun and help children make meaning of their world. We embrace cultural diversity and infuse our daily spoken language with the Armenian language upon request.
We believe life is to be celebrated, especially childhood. Throughout the year children are engaged in the expressive arts. Though we follow an emergent curriculum we also find the fun in scheduling parties, dinners, birthdays, holidays and other key events that are exciting and important for children and parents. We believe these special moments combined with everyday moments of friendship and care are what make the important positive memories that children will keep forever in their hearts and minds.
Location
Bight Childhood Wonderschool is in a bright, welcoming single-family home in the Hollywood neighborhood. We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of the areas our children love to play in are the dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), block area (for gross motor skills and problem-solving), and art area (for expressing emotions and ideas). Children will have some outdoor time every day in our outdoor yard. Children need space to run, jump, dance, and move!
About our program
I am contracted with the Korean American Family Service which is the local food program in the area. I provide fresh, organic, homemade food every day. No frozen food, processed food, and no sugar. Fruits and vegetables are provided every single day.
