About our program
Welcome to Mindful Moon School! My name is Ashley, and I’m so grateful you’re here! Mindful Moon School is your child’s home away from home. We are a play-based/nature program with a focus on mindfully navigating the phases of your child’s growth and development.
As mindfulness practitioners and parents, we believe that young children are uniquely wired to benefit from mindfulness practice amongst play. Habits formed early in life will inform behaviors in adulthood, and with mindfulness, we have the opportunity to give our students the habit of being peaceful, kind and accepting.
Introducing and practicing mindfulness throughout the day with your child is one of Mindful Moon School’s many benefits. According to The New York Times, “children engaged in meditation programs demonstrate improvements in cognitive control, working memory and math test scores. Other studies have shown that mindfulness can be especially helpful to children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and also reduce children’s aggression, anxiety and stress while also increasing happiness”.
