Achievements
Philosophy
At Harbor Family Wonderschool, we believe all children have dignity, worth and can grow with the ability to be self-directing in making positive choices and decisions about themselves and others.
We also believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. The role of our program is to assist the parents in the care and education of each child. We believe in a strong parent/teacher partnership.
Our program is operated on a non-discriminatory basis, according to equal treatment and access to service without regards to race, color, religion, disability or national origin.
Location
Harbor Family Wonderschool is located in a family-friendly neighborhood called Bixby Knolls in Long Beach.
We especially love our outdoor learning environment. It offers children the opportunity to explore, create, engage in movement, and develop an appreciation for nature. The children love being creative with different art materials, blocks, water and sand, dramatic play and using their large motor skills outside.
There are several child-friendly attractions nearby, including First Friday, the Historic Society Museum, and a variety of restaurants. Bixby Knolls area public schools include Longfellow Elementary School, Los Cerritos Elementary School, Burroughs Elementary School and Hughes Middle School.
In terms of transport, the nearest bus stop to Harbor Family Wonderschool is the 51and the nearest Blue Line is located off Del Amo and Santa Fe Ave.
About our program
Harbors Family Wonderschool strives to provide a well-rounded recreational program that allows children the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally and physically among their peers. We provide a creative and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, children with special needs and school age children to experience cultural, educational and recreational activities.
By providing these experiences each child can grow physically and emotionally. Harbors Family Wonderschool can assist parents in building their child’s self-confidence and awareness to become creative and unique individuals. We believe that each child is special and unique and has the right to quality care.
