Our Teachers

As a childcare provider I have worked in education teaching children for 22 years. I have been formally educated in the field of Child Development, and is my area of expertise. I have a passion for teaching children. My belief is that children are an inspiration; each holds promise for our future. They supply us with endless rays of energy, enthusiasm, warmth, and hope to keep us going.

Philosophy

I believe that helping children is my most important role. In my opinion, particular emphasis should be placed on building high self-esteem in children, as well as, providing them with an anti-bias curriculum celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of each child and their family. Children’s interaction with their environment through play is the basic ingredient of all learning. The young child deals with concrete, specific, and tangible material. There is greater value in the actual handling of objects, rather than manipulating the symbols that represents them. I am certain that providing them with a large variety of constructive, dramatic, and creative material and experiences is fundamental. I feel it is important to use information about the specific children and families in the program to further determine how I can work with and help them. I also believe that there is a critical link between a child’s early experiences and later success in life. I believe you cannot separate childcare and education; children learn best through their play, interactions, and experiences. I also acknowledge that parents are and should be the most important influence in their child’s life.

Location

Our location is less than 2 miles from the 14 freeway. We are located less than a mile away from the Antelope Valley College campus in Lancaster. We are near West Wind Elementary School, Amargosa Creek Middle School, and Lancaster High School. Our daycare is located in a tranquil and calm neighborhood with plenty of street parking available. Our location provides quick access to main streets.

About our program

My mission is to provide quality, developmentally appropriate care and education for children and to serve as a model and resource to families, students, and community. My goal is to provide a warm and stimulating environment in which each child receives individual care and guidance because I know that the first six years of a child’s life are the most important in establishing learning patterns and attitudes which help them grow up to be a healthy productive adult. I believe that an early childhood program of the highest quality is important. I will not only seek to address the health and safety needs of children, but also the development of the whole child-emotional, social, physical, and intellectual aspects of children.
