Our Teachers

Hello! I am Sweta Mitra, the founder of Mitra Family Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 25 years of experience working with young children. I received Montessori Training from UC Irvine and worked for many years in a child care center prior to opening my own in-home program.

Philosophy

Mitra Family Wonderschool has been serving families in our community since 2003. Our goal is to cultivate the curiosity and intelligence of all children through play and discovery. We provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

Location

Mitra Family Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, warm single family home in the Glendora neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Mitra Family Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
