Our Teachers
Hello! I’m Varduhi and I have been running Angels Planet for 2 years now. Prior to running my own program, I spent 6 years working at a child care center for infants and toddlers in Armenia. I studied ECE in Armenia as well and received my teacher certificate in early childhood education.
I have two children of my own who are in the 3rd and 6th grades, respectively. In my spare time, I love to cook, sing and dance. I love weaving my interests into my program and sharing my enthusiasm with the kids.
Achievements
Philosophy
Angels Planet is a bilingual home-based child care where our goal is to develop the whole child. Our teachers speak fluent Russian and Armenian in addition to English, so your child will be exposed to a second and even third language during the school day. We are hands-on with the kids, singing and dancing and exploring their talents and interests every day. We love to get to know each individual child’s strengths and weaknesses. Our students hone their social emotional skills as they learn to share and play with their peers.
Location
Our program is located in a clean, quiet, safe neighborhood in Glendale. There’s very little traffic in our neighborhood and parking is super easy for stress-free drop-offs and pickups. We are located two minutes from the 134 and three minutes from Highway 5. Our home is spacious and clean, allowing the children the opportunity to express themselves fully and freely.
The kids spend time outdoors every day in our backyard, where we have a playground.
About our program
The typical day at Angels Planet starts with breakfast followed by time for free play on playground. Then the kids can engage in dramatic play, music, and other activities. We do some academic-style activities before sitting down for lunch. After lunch, we have nap time, more activities and play, circle time, reading, and arts and crafts.
The kids particularly love story time, dramatic play with dancing and singing, and playing outside.
We have lots of age-appropriate toys available including Legos, manipulatives, toys for infants and toddlers, cars, blocks, easels, and more.
Meals
Nutrition is key when it comes to young children and learning. We offer only fresh (never frozen), organic homemade meals. It is important to us to use only organic ingredients so we are not introducing any unnatural chemicals or toxins into their diet. Here are some sample items from our menu:
- Breakfast: eggs, Cheerios, sausages, biscuits and honey
- Lunches: soups, macaroni, rice, Armenian dishes (e.g. dolma, summer soup, borch)
- Snacks: fruits, yogurt, vegetables, salads, organic juices
Parent communication
We always keep in contact with parents about the progress of their child during the school day, starting from Day 1. We have an initial meeting and orientation with parents after they enroll. From there, we engage in constant communication, whether it is face-to-face during drop off and pick up or via text message or any other medium. We also send plenty of photos and videos so you can see exactly what your kid is up to!
