Our Teachers

Ely Castro, Director Ely began her journey in early childhood education over 13 years ago, inspired by her deep love for children and her passion for creating meaningful, enriching environments. After earning her ECE degree, she went on to establish LUMEN Spanish Immersion Learning Center—a play-based, Reggio Emilia–inspired program designed to nurture young children through the beauty of language, creativity, and discovery.

As a mother and educator, Ely saw firsthand how powerful the early years are in shaping a child’s future. That insight became the heart behind LUMEN: a warm, loving place where children ages 0–5 are fully immersed in Spanish while developing confidence, curiosity, and strong social-emotional foundations.

With over 13 years of experience working with young children, Ely brings not only expertise but also a deep sense of purpose to her role. Her favorite part of what she does is watching children light up as they explore the world around them and seeing families build genuine community. She believes that small class sizes, strong relationships, and a child-centered approach are the key to helping every little one shine.

Testimonials

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Ely and the amazing care she provided for my son. As a parent, especially with him being my only child, choosing the right caregiver was such a big and emotional decision — and I was so grateful that I chose Ely. From the very beginning, she made me feel confident and at ease.

Ely was incredibly kind, patient, and nurturing. It was clear how much she genuinely loved and cared for the children she looked after. My son absolutely adored her, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. - Samantha P.

Philosophy

At LUMEN Spanish Immersion Learning Center, we follow a Reggio Emilia–inspired, play-based approach where children learn through exploration, creativity, and meaningful connection. We are fully Spanish immersion, and language is naturally integrated into everything we do—through play, songs, storytelling, and daily routines.

Our program values:

Child-led learning based on interests and curiosity

Respect for each child as capable and full of potential

Community and connection with families and peers

Safe, nurturing environment (CPR/First Aid certified)

Joyful discovery and hands-on exploration

We believe that early childhood is sacred, and our goal is to help every child grow with confidence, love, and wonder.
