Blossom Childcare Wonderschool!
About Me:
My name is Martha, and I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to work with little kids. Blossom gives me the opportunity to design a space where children can thrive and grow. As a mother, when I created my program, I thought about what I wanted my own child to know, understand, and learn from the people and environment around him. My goal is to provide children with opportunities to explore their surroundings, discover their own capabilities, and build strong connections with others. I wanted to create this type of supportive and enriching childcare experience for other families as well.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco and Associate degrees from Merritt College. Additionally, I have certification from Stanford University in Early Childhood Development and Mental Health, further strengthening my ability to create an engaging learning environment for young minds.

Testimonials
“I love how nurturing and attentive they are with my son, on top of keeping him stimulated with all the education and arts and crafts they offer.” - Yolanda
“My son has been going to Purple Blossom Daycare for 1.5 years. Whenever we drop our son off, we are comfortable knowing that Miss Martha and Lily are taking care of him. We love that they are structured with play time, feeding time and circle time. I know he loves it as well, because, in the morning, when I drop him off, he is eager to run to the door and ring the doorbell.” - Tewalde
My children love this place. Miss Martha and Lily are two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Arts and crafts, homemade meals, kindness and love, this place has it all.

as former ECE teacher, I had a clear vision of the environment I wanted to leave my boys in. As soon as I walked into Purple Blossom, I knew this is where I wanted them to go! Everything clicked and they checked all my boxes. The space is bright, clean, fun, and safe. Miss Martha and Miss Lily exude love and joy. They are truly passionate about their craft and plan daily activities that are engaging and creative. It’s the perfect mixture of play and structure. Finding them has been a blessing for our family!
Our son started at Blossom Daycare around 18 months and we are so so grateful we found Martha! She has such a kind and loving energy and this shows as the kids seem very happy there. We searched for a while before we decided on this daycare. It’s a safe and nurturing environment for our son. Martha and Adu are great at keeping us updated on how things are going. There are healthy and tasty foods and fun activities for the kids. Our son has learned and grown so much since he started. At times he just doesn’t want to leave! We would definitely recommend it.

Madeline,
We highly recommend Martha. She cared for our son (18mo-4yrs old) and our daughter (12mo-16mo). Martha cared for our children like they were her own children. Our kids LOVED her and made great developmental strides under her care. Martha prepared healthy foods for them, and introduced them to Amharic. Martha values outdoor playtime and always balanced semi-structured and open-ended play perfectly! We wish we still lived the Bay Area so Martha could take care of our children!

Paola,
Martha cared starting when she was 18 months old until she turned 3 and she was ready to go to preschool. Martha met her where she was at, held her to sleep when she needed the extra comfort, introduced her to new foods and supported her social-emotional development by understanding my daughter’s slow-to-warm temperament. My daughter still talks about Martha and the friends the she made under her care. Martha will always be a part of our family and I would recommend her to anyone!

Elsa,
Martha Cared for my son year before my son entered pre-school. This was one of the best choices that we could have made for our son. Martha is caring, patient, and kind to all the children she cared for. My son loved going to her in home daycare. I felt at peace leaving him with her everyday. She was very intentional about the routine, skills, and habits she was supporting the children with developing through amazing and fun activities. She prepared my son as he was getting ready to transition into pre-school, and she also supported us with researching our options for the best school to place my son into. Martha is truly amazing, and I am so grateful for all she has done for my family. I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a Great Childcare. You will not be disappointed. -Elsa

Sarah,
Martha took care of my son from when he was 2 until he was 3 1/2 and is family to us, we love her! My son absolutely adores Martha, and I couldn’t be happier with the loving, dedicated care she provided to him. Martha gave the children healthy, homemade meals and snacks daily and each child received one on one time and attention. I appreciated that she made sure to send me pictures and videos throughout the day and called me if she had any questions or information to tell me. The children all developed and improved their social and academic skills as they grew together and formed friendships under Martha’s care - I would give her my highest recommendation!
Philosophy
My Philosophy
Early childhood is a magical time—a season of wonder, discovery, and boundless growth. At the heart of my approach is a deep belief in nurturing each child’s natural curiosity, encouraging their independence, and inspiring creativity in a space filled with warmth and love.
I strive to create an environment where little hands and big imaginations feel safe to explore, where learning is both structured and playful, and where every child is seen, heard, and cherished. I embrace the uniqueness of each child, celebrating who they are while helping them feel deeply connected to those around them.
Through hands-on experiences, meaningful connections, and a foundation of kindness and respect, I hope to spark a lifelong love for learning. More than anything, my wish is that every child leaves each day feeling confident, valued, and look forward to return tomorrow.
Location
Our Location:
Blossom Childcare Wonderschool is located in the scenic Carriage Hills along the Sobrante Ridge Regional Preserve in El Sobrante, CA.
We offer a unique outdoor space crafted with play and learning areas that foster exploration and development. From creative arts and crafts to sensory zones, our environment sparks curiosity. We spend most of the time outdoors in our sunny Bay Area backyard. Here, children immerse themselves in imaginative play, engaging in role-play scenarios like farmers market shopping, running a play ice cream shop, operating a coffee shop, cooking in a play kitchen, and participating in gardening. These activities help children develop essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills, fostering creativity, language development, and self-expression.
About our program
My program is all about providing a play-based learning environment where every activity is designed to spark creativity and foster growth. Children enjoy hands-on crafts and interactive developmental activities that build essential skills and inspire curiosity. I have crafted the program with care, creating a fun, engaging, and meaningful space where every child can explore, discover, and truly blossom.
I am deeply passionate about nutrition and the role it plays in a child’s overall well-being. I believe that healthy eating habits start early, and I take great care in preparing balanced and nutritious meals that fuel children’s growth and development. Food is not just about nourishment—it’s also an opportunity for learning, exploration, and community. I love introducing children to new flavors and textures, including traditional Ethiopian dishes that offer a unique and enriching cultural experience. I also prioritize using seasonal fruits and vegetables, allowing children to enjoy fresh, flavorful ingredients while learning about where their food comes from. By exposing children to a variety of wholesome foods, I encourage them to develop an appreciation for diverse cuisines and make positive choices about what they eat. Mealtime at Blossom is a time to connect, explore, and enjoy the goodness of real food.
