Hello! I am Maria Flores, the founder of Flores Family Child Care Wonderschool (El Monte). I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 10 years of experience working with young children.
I have taken many classes in Early Childhood Education to further my knowledge about how children best learn and develop. I take pride in offering a high-quality child care environment and work with my assistants to maintain a small 1:4 ratio of providers:children so that everyone feels safe, secure and nurtured. My goal is to prepare children for a brighter future.

At Flores Family Child Care Wonderschool (El Monte), we believe in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where children can grow and prosper. We offer an Early Head Start program where children are encouraged to follow their own interests through free play while also following a structured daily rhythm filled with a variety of engaging activities. Children need opportunities to explore their creativity, socialize, and develop good personal hygiene habits. Each activity in our daily rhythm is designed with a clear learning objective in mind.

Flores Family Child Care Wonderschool (El Monte) is located in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the El Monte neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving).
Children will have some outdoor time every day in my backyard. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

3. Submit an Enrollment Application
If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.
4. Enroll
After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
