Our Teachers
I am Bhavini Patel, CEO and Lead Educator of Kirkland Child Care, a licensed family child care and early learning program serving children from three months to thirteen years. I have over twenty years of experience in early childhood education and family child care, and I hold a Master’s degree in Nutrition from India along with certification as a Nutritionist in Washington State. My credentials include a Child Care Nutrition Professional certificate through the National CACFP Association, a Leaders Shaping Leaders certificate through NAFCC, and Initial, Short, and State certificates in Early Childhood Education, with my State certificate completed in 2019. I am a STAR approved trainer with DCYF in both Early Childhood Education and School Age care, and I serve as an independent trainer registered with Washington State MERIT. I also work as a contractor with Imagine Institute, delivering professional development to other early learning providers. Beyond Kirkland Child Care, I founded Thrive Early Learning Consulting LLC, where I support other family child care providers with training and program development.
Philosophy
At Kirkland Child Care, I believe that children learn best through play, in an environment that feels like a true extension of home. My philosophy centers on creating a warm, nurturing space where each child is seen as a unique individual with their own pace of growth, their own interests, and their own way of making sense of the world. My role is to be a facilitator of that environment rather than a director of it. I want children to feel safe enough to explore, curious enough to ask questions, and supported enough to take healthy risks in their learning. Every activity I offer is developmentally appropriate so that children of different ages and abilities can participate together, whether they are working independently, alongside a peer, or in a small group. I place equal value on the four areas of a child’s development, cognitive, physical, social, and emotional, understanding that these areas are deeply connected and that growth in one supports growth in the others. Encouragement and praise are woven into daily interactions, not as empty affirmation but as genuine recognition of a child’s effort and progress.
