Our Teachers

Tamara Lawrence is the Director at Children of Valour Christian Academy holding a Master’s degree in Christian Education. She has two children of her own but treats every child she comes in contact with as if they are her own. Tamara loves children and has a passion for loving and nurturing children. Tamara believes that each child deserves the very best childhood possible and it starts with a healthy environment at an early age.

Jamia Watkins is our 3-4 year old teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Norfolk State University.

Kelly Rodgers is our infant/toddler leader and the Program Assistant with over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood.

Philosophy

The Children of Valour Christian Academy recognizes that one of the most important developmental stages in a child’s life is in their earliest years and we seek to develop a strong, Christian-faith foundation for our students.

Our goal is to also ensure that they are nurtured in early education through language, tactile exploration, social interactions, new learning opportunities in their environment, and play!

We will foster church, family, and community partnerships providing the child with a positive self-awareness and positive social interactions and awareness of others.
