Our Teachers

I am Mieko Carter, owner and director of Divine Footprints, and I have over a decade of experience in early childhood education and childcare leadership. My journey in this field began from a real passion for children, families, and the need for safe, nurturing, high-quality care in the community. I earned my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2014, and since then, I have remained committed to growing not only as a provider, but also as a leader, mentor, and advocate for family childcare. I previously owned and directed Divine Footprints in New Orleans from 2013 to 2020, and I now continue that work in Texas, where I serve children and families through a strong educational foundation, structure, and love. My personal story is rooted in purpose. I do this work because I understand how important it is for families to have childcare they can trust and for children to be in an environment where they can learn, grow, and feel supported.

My husband, Ramon Carter, is also a valuable part of the work and vision behind what we do. Ramon has a background in education and leadership and brings strong experience in mentorship, youth development, and family support. His heart for people, combined with his ability to lead, encourage, and connect with others, adds strength to our overall mission. Together, we believe childcare is bigger than supervision. It is about building strong children, supporting families, and creating lasting impact in the community.

Philosophy

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he/she should go: and when they become older, they will not depart from it”

Children learn best through hands-on experiences, structured play, and meaningful interactions. Every moment is an opportunity to teach, guide, and build.

Location

Our program is located in a welcoming, family-oriented area of Pearland that is convenient for busy working parents. One of the things that makes our location great is that we are in a community surrounded by neighborhoods, nearby schools, and family resources. Families also have access to local parks and recreational spaces such as Centennial Park, Independence Park, and Southdown Park, which adds to the strong community feel of the area. Depending on the family’s location, nearby school connections include Pearland ISD and Pasadena ISD, with South Belt Elementary serving part of the 77089 area.

Our location is also helpful for parents who commute. Pearland is positioned near major employment areas and offers access to regional transportation resources through METRO, including bus, Park & Ride, rail connections, and vanpool options. Overall, our area offers families a great mix of safety, accessibility, neighborhood comfort, and convenience.
