Allow me to introduce myself. Most of my daycare littles know me as Mrs. Teedy or Mrs. ShaRhonda. I have been working in the childcare industry since 1993, gaining extensive experience with children of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Over the years, I’ve worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners, school-aged children, and children with special needs. My journey into childcare took a more personal turn when I became a foster parent. I noticed a significant need for quality childcare in my area, and many facilities did not meet my expectations. Driven by my passion for childcare and my desire to make a difference, I decided to open my own private childcare home, which I named A Mother’s Prayer Academy.
I have earned a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and am honored to have A Mother’s Prayer Academy recognized as a 4 Star Texas Rising Star Certified daycare. My passion lies in addressing disparities in childcare quality, particularly on the Southwest side of Fort Worth. Our goal is to provide an age-appropriate curriculum designed to mentally, socially, and emotionally prepare children for Pre-K or 1st grade. At A Mother’s Prayer Academy, children learn, develop, and grow in countless positive ways.
I take great pride in being not just a childcare provider but also a teacher, mentor, and resource for parents. In addition to teaching, I manage many roles, including secretary, accountant, cook, and more. Most importantly, I observe your child’s growth and interaction daily, ensuring they are nurtured in a safe and engaging environment.
Testimonials
Brittany Taylor AMPA has been a joy for us and our daughter since she began a handful of months ago! ShaRhonda is kind but has structure which we so appreciate. She is also very attentive. For example, our daughter had a chronic diaper rash at her previous school and ever since starting at AMPA she has not had any diaper rashes. The kids get intentional, individualized care and she is easy to communicate with. She gives daily, personal updates on what she is working with my daughter on. We love being at AMPA and cannot recommend it highly enough!
Keiandra Stroud Mrs. Teedy and the AMPA staff are a God send! My son started his journey with them when he was only two months old! Her facility is very clean, she is very attentive to all the kiddos, and she truly cares about her AMPA babies! My son has NEVER came home hungry, with a wet diaper, dirty clothes, or anything! She cares for my son as if he was her own! We just had his four month appointment, and his pediatrician says developmentally he is well above infants his age. I know that this is because of the tender love, care, and learning that he receives at AMPA. Truly a mother’s answered prayer. I would 10/10 recommend!
Destinee Gomez-Anderson May 3, 2024 AMPA is truly the best and Sharhonda is a God sent. She treats my baby like her own and I can’t believe how quickly my son has grown since being in her school. I love the ratio of kids to teacher so that she is able to give each kid the attention they need. I will always recommend AMPA to any parent.
Mi’Onnah Smith Feb 26, 2024 AMPA is hands down the best daycare! The love, safety, and education she provides my son with is amazing! We love being apart of the AMPA family and super thankful for Mrs. Teedy! It is definitely a mother’s prayer, answered.

At our school, we strive to create a safe and caring community of young explorers. Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together. We believe that when children are truly engaged with their environment, magic happens. Our team of experienced and innovative teachers do this by creating a space driven by the interests and ideas of the children who inhabit it.
Location
We’re located in the 76133 zip code just blocks away from Chisholm Tollway and Hulen Road, nestled in a peaceful and quiet single family home.
About our program
The name A Mother’s Prayer Academy came to me in a dream, inspired by my desire to answer every mother’s prayer by providing a safe, loving space for children to learn and grow. although A Mother’s Prayer Academy is based in my home, I uphold high standards by following many of the same rules as public schools and brick-and-mortar daycare facilities.
